Sa'Myra & Shanya's Story
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.. Matthew 19:14
Sa’Myra Emani McBride was born on January 6, 2018 at Roper Hospital, Downtown Charleston, SC and Shanya Noelle McBride was born on December 23, 2019 at Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital, Summerville, SC to Arthur Deonte’ McBride and Alma D. McMillan of Moncks Corner, SC.
Sa’Myra and Shanya were two beautiful souls whom were compassionate, inquisitive and filled with lots of love for everyone and each other. Sa’Myra took on the role and responsibility as the older protective sister to her siblings Shanya and Harmony. She loved them so very much. If Shanya was sad, Sa’Myra would hug her while patting her on her back with a reassuring soft spoken, “It’s okay Shanya”. When her baby sister Harmony took her first steps, Sa’Myra was so excited that she sprang into action encouraging and teaching Harmony how to walk. Everything Sa’Myra learned, she shared with her sisters.
Sa’Myra enjoyed coloring, painting, being read to, riding her bike, driving her princess car, bubbles, horses, unicorns, being jokey, and her two dogs (Boo Boo & Bry Bry). She also liked watching her favorite TV shows: Paw Patrol, PJ Masks, Pepa Pig, Miniforce Super Dino Power, Blippi and Clifford the Big Red-dog. Her favorite game was “AMIMALS”. You’d have to make the sound of whatever AMIMAL she named. She recently gained a fascination for dinosaurs. Her favorites were: the T-Rex, stegosaurus and the velociraptor. Watching her learn was truly amazing. She was also quite inquisitive. She loved asking questions and whatever the response, she would ask you “Why?” And after each response, she’d ask, but “why”? This would continue until you ran out of answers. Lastly, she loved being humorous and making us laugh. Her laugh, smile and humor was most infectious.
Shanya absolutely loved both her sisters; however, she mimicked her big sister Sa’Myra or “Ra Ra” as she affectionately called her. Shanya loved playing with her dolls, watching Cocomelon and Simon and learning from Sa’Myra. She was also in the “No” phase. She loved saying No to everything. So Sa’Myra nicknamed Shanya as “No”.
Sa’Myra and Shanya shared their lives together. There was no separating them. They’ll forever reside in our hearts. Until we meet again—Rest on sweet angels.
They were preceded in death by: Arthur J. McBride, James (Ella Rae) Reid, Moses (Jannie Mae) Nowlin, Charles E. Smedley, Dakiesha Johnson, Mathis McMillan and Gregory Marshall.
