LIFE REFLECTIONS OF MOTHER ROSA LEE WIGFALL

God saw the road was rough. The hills were hard to climb. He gently closed her eyes and whispered "Peace be still"

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1

On December 1, 1933, James and Virginia Bryant Walker Owens welcomed their  second child whom they named, Rosa Lee Owens. On February 27, 2022 Rosa Lee went home to join all of her family who went on before her so they could walk around heaven together.

Rosa Lee was raised in a Christian home. At an early age she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mount Carmel AME Church located in the Macbeth section of Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

Rosa Lee received her education in the Berkeley County School System Located in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. After graduating from high school she then relocated to Brooklyn, New York where she worked for a while. A short time in her life Rosa Lee realized that New York was not for her, which led her to return back home to South Carolina.

On May 1,1954 she married the love of her life, SGT. Johnny C. Wigfall. To this union they were blessed with seven children, five girls: Gloria, Maxine, Stephanie, Emlyn and Jean Wigfall and two boys, Tracy and Ronald Wigfall.

As years went by, being a mother of seven and a military wife, she took on added responsibilities while her husband was away in the Army. Rosa Lee was a great Wife, Mother, Aunt, Sister and Friend to all who knew her.

Rosa Lee was a good home maker. She loved to cook, knit and crochet, but her main hobby was fishing. If you could not find Rosa Lee at home just follow the foot tracks down to the fishing area and there she sat. Rosa Lee was also employed by Georgia Pacific for several years. Even though Rosa Lee had her share of ups and downs she did not complain.

Short time later Rosa Lee lost four of her seven children: Gloria, Jean, Maxine, and Stephanie Wigfall, who went home to be with the lord, But she never gave up through the trying times. Rosa Lee helped raise her grandchildren, one whom she raised as her own: SGT. Donnell Johnson. As time went on she lost the love of her life, her husband, SGT. Johnny Wigfall.

Rosa Lee was a quiet person who loved her lord in her own way. No one would ever know she was in church until you saw her, some of her children, and grandchildren sitting on the seventh row on the right side of the congregation.

On Sunday evening February 27, 2022  her daughter, Emlyn walked out of her bedroom, when she turned around, her grandson said to her "She is Gone" with a peaceful look on her face. You can imagine Rosa Lee saying these words ``If anyone asked you where I've Gone, Tell them I've gone to be my Lord".

Her husband Sergeant Johnny (Calvin) Wigfall and daughters: Gloria, Jean, Maxine, and Stephanie preceded her in death. Others who went home before her: Parents, James and Virginia Bryant Walker Owens; Sister, Rebecca Miller; mother and father-in-law, Willie and Virginia Bryant Walker Owens; five brothers and sisters-in-law.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her daughter and caretaker, Emlyn (Preston) Croker; three sons: Ronald Wigfall, Tracy Wigfall, and SGT Donnell Johnson;12 Grandchildren; special grandchildren: Micheal Wigfall, Devon Wigfall, Willie Wigfall, Donnell Johnson, Shalay Wigfall, Shaquana Wigfall, Shicore Wigfall, and Cleo Wigfall; 19 great grandchildren; special great grandchildren: Faith Johnson, Makhi Robinson, Ty'Quan Wigfall, and Tanasia Wigfall; special niece and nephew, Barbara and (Ezekiel (Zeka)) Sistrunk, and Earnest of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; special grand niece and grand nephew: Robert (son, Joshua   Sistrunk) and LaJuan (daughter, Chanel Sistrunk) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; three brothers-in-law, Clarence, Tommy and Hercules Wigfall; sisters-in-law: Senovia, Gwendolyn, Edna, Matilda, Evonne, and Mary Lee Wigfall and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
