Life Reflections of Lillie Ann Dowling

Lillie Ann Dowling, daughter of the late Willa Mae Edwards Fussell and Martin Douglass Fussell was born on March 9, 1941 in Camden, New Jersey. Lillie departed this life on September 8, 2020 at Summerville Community Hospice House 8:10 pm.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Ebenezer AME Church in Charleston, SC. Lillie was educated and graduated from Camden High School. Lillie moved to Charleston, SC after she got married. She was employed at Cummins Engine until she retired.
She shared her love for baking cakes and pies. She was known for her sour cream pound cakes. She looked forward to the holidays and family time.
She was preceded in death by Harold Edwards (brother), Cassandra Fussell (sister), Eugene Fussell (brother), Troy Dowling (son) and Jarvon Dowling (grandson).
Lillie leaves to cherish her fond memories, her children: Sidney (Ronail) Dowling, Broderick (Vanessa) Dowling, Kelly Dowling, Octavious (Brenda) Dowling and grandson whom she raised as her own, Troy Mayes, all of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Aisha Dowling, Camae (Fred) Brown, Sidney (Sade) Dowling, Octavia (Thomas) Edwards, Christian (Tristan) Keith, Ramon Dowling, Javon Mayes, Shayla Brown, Aaliyah Williams, Moesha Dowling, Octavious Dowling Jr., Laylah Dowling, Mychayla Parker, Dontae Dowling, Dominique Dowling; 26 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Sellers Lee; Special Nieces Detrichia Sellers and Alexis Fussell (God Child; special friends: Floria Mckellar, Doris Cooper and Mrs. Sweets and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lillie A. Dowling will lie in state from 11am to the hour of service at the Alfred Williams Community Center 4441 Durant Ave. N. Charleston, SC 29405
