Life Reflections of Lethaniel M. Rivers

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

Lethaniel Maurice Rivers was born January 27, 1960 in Boston Massachusetts to the late Arthur Wallace and Lottie Mae Houser -Rivers.

Lethaniel was educated in the Berkeley County Public School System. He was a 1979 graduate of Berkeley High School.

Lethaniel was employed after high school with Barwick Heating and Air for 5 years. He was later employed with the Berkeley County School District for 17 years. He became employed with Roger’s Sons for 5 plus years.

Lethaniel was a baptized member of Wesley United Methodist Church at an early age, under the leadership of Reverend Steward.

Lethaniel was an avid sportsman and held several records with Berkeley High School’s Track and Field for many years. He also enjoyed playing softball with a community league that was started by him and his brothers, Leo and Robert. They were known in the league as “The Greenhill Phillies” and later as the “Renegades”. Lethaniel held the number “14” until the demise of his team. During this time, “The Phillies” were very well known and played across the Lowcountry, winning various awards and trophies.
Lethaniel was also a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He would not miss watching any Dallas games. He loved to dress out in his Dallas gear on every game day. He also loved to fish, when the fish were biting, he could be found “behind the house” or at The Dike. Lethaniel loved to tell stories of things he remembered in life and family. No one in the family could tell a good memory like Lethaniel.

In addition to his parents, Lethaniel was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Wallace, Corneilius and Arthur Lee Rivers and Godfather, Lethaniel Brown.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, six brothers: Willis Rivers, Robert (Mary) Rivers, Leo (Connie) Rivers, Henry (Ralynn) Rivers, Reginald Rivers and Roiley (Loretta) Rivers; two sisters, Darlene (Daniel) Jacobs and Dorothy Rivers; aunt, Ruthann Brown; his heart was with his nieces, Bridgett, Daelyn, Amanda and Albertha, and a host a host of nephews, cousins and friends.
