We regret to announce the passing of Gene Irvin Grissitte, 65, of Jamestown, SC. who entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
Life Reflections of Gene I. Grissitte
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37:25
Gene Irvin Grissitte of Jamestown, SC departed this life at home after a short battel with cancer.
He was born July 30, 1955 to the late Irvin and Dorothy Grissitte.
Gene was educated in the Berkeley County School District. He later moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he was employed as a long distance truck driver and painter. He took great pride in performing his occupation. Also there, he met the woman who would stand beside him throughout the years, Sandy Mills.
Gene relocated back to Jamestown, SC with his family to support and care for this father, the late Elder Irvin Grissitte who would always say "Gene, you are my morning star" all the while administering God's word of wisdom to his son.
Gene was a strong man and of few words with a simple taste of a cap, jeans and t-shirt, always with a smile that would melt the heart with laughter contagious to the soul.
Those left to cherish Gene's memories are his children, Carlos Grissitte, Dorothy Coutrair, Shakia (Jean) Lafleur, Tavon Grissitte, Shanell Grissitte, and his partner Sandy Mills; eleven grandchildren: Bre'Ana, Paris, William, Tavion Gabrielle, Emanuel, Shaniya, Jonathan, Brandon, Layla, and Stephen; one great-grandchild, Karson and a host of other relatives and friends.
Your passing creates a hole in our hearts. You will forever be loved and remembered.
