Donnava Kinlaw Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mr. Donnava Darrell Kinlaw, 60, of Moncks Corner, SC who answered the master's call at 2:12 AM at Roper Hospital, Charleston, SC. Donnava was the loving and devoted husband of Mrs. Wilma Kinlaw, the loving father of Shedrick (Tanisha) Moorer and Desmond (Amirah) Kinlaw; the forever loving son of Reverend Wilford & First Lady Lelia Kinlaw; the loving brother of Larry (Ann) Kinlaw, Maurice (Regina) Kinlaw & Jeremy Kinlaw.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the family will be receiving IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS at their residence and a face mask is required to be worn at all times while at the residence. Thank you for your prayers, and understanding during this difficult time. Continue to keep the Kinlaw family in your prayers.

 

 

LIFE REFLECTIONS OF DONNAVA DARRELL KINLAW

A time to be born...
Donnava Darrell was born on September 8, 1961 at Moncks Corner Hospital to Rev. Wilford & Lelia Mae Washington Kinlaw.

A time for every purpose under heaven…
Known to some as DD. and to others as Darrell. He was a member of New Emanuel AME Church his entire life where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and served as a Class Leader. He was later elevated to the office of Pro-temp. Darrell attended Macedonia High School and graduated with the Class of 1979. He was employed with Davol directly out of high school, which changed its name to CR Bard, and later changed to Becton Dickinson. Darrell was employed with the company for a total of 37 years and participated on the basketball, sofiball, and bowling teams while at CR Bard.

A time to love...
He married Wilma J. Moorer on September 1, 1984 this union was blessed with two children. He was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys (NFL); the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) and had a insatiable sweet tooth. He loved Ryan's Steakhouse and loved spending time with family, and traveling...

A time to die...
Darrell transitioned from this life on September, 1. 2022 after a brief illness. He was battling with health complications since 2017 and fought long and hard for 5 years before entering into eternal rest. Even in his fight his favorite scripture was Psalm: 91.                                                        

A time to mourn…

Darrel leaves to cherish his memories: his wife: Wilma Children: Shedrick L. Moorer (Tanisha) of Moncks Corner, and Desmond Kinlaw (Amirah) of West Ashley; Grandkids: Malajah, Isaiah, Jayden, and Bryson; Parents: Rev Wilford & Lelia Mae Kinlaw of Savannah Creek; Brothers: Larry Kinlaw (Anita) of Moncks Corner, Maurice Kinlaw (Regina) of Summerville, Jeremy Kinlaw of Savannah Creek and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and two special friends: Julie Mosely and Jeanette Eaddy.

 

Viewing will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022 from 3-6 PM at Divinity Mortuary.  A face mask must be worn.

Home-Going Service of Darrell will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at The Alvin Recreation Center,  2191 Santee River Road, St. Stephen, SC.   Darrell will lie in state from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.   Reverend Wallace Hurell - Eulogist  

Interment: Savannah Creek Cemetery, Jamestown, SC
