Deacon Louis Manigault, Sr. was born June 20, 1926 to Marshall Manigault, Sr. and Hester Sumpter Manigault in MacBeth, South Carolina and departed this world on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Many of Louis’ beloved family members preceded him in death: his parents, Marshall and Hester Manigault, Sr.; four brothers, Joseph Manigault, Abraham Manigault, Marshall Manigault, Jr. and Simon Peter Manigault; and three sisters, Louise Reaves, Bertha Lee Johnson and Iona Prophet.
He leaves in cherished memory his devoted wife of forty-nine years, Deaconess Hester Williams Manigault; nine loving children, Renida Manigault, Emily Louvette Manigault, Louis Manigault, II (Kimbryetta), Desma Manigault McElveen (Russell), Rosaiah Manigault Carter (Billy), Isaiah Derrick Manigault (Arisa), Hester Christine Manigault Simmons (Vince), Kendra Renee Manigault and Megan Manigault Wilson (Alonso); eight grandchildren; a brother, Francis Manigault; a sister, Corneil Manigault Young (Horris) as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and the Anderson Baptist Church family. His legacy will live on through the words and actions of his children and through all the lives he has touched.
Family members and friends may view Deacon Louis Manigault, Sr. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Divinity Mortuary, 924 South Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, S.C. 29461.
Graveside services will take place on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Anderson Baptist Church, 1159 Old Black Oak Road, Moncks Corner, S.C. 29461.
