It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of William Robert "Robbie" Hoyt Jr., who entered into enteral rest on January 6, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky. Robbie was born on September 27, 1989, to his proud parents, William Robert Hoyt and Dannette Cumbee, in Sevierville, Tennessee. Robbie dedicated his life to being a loving and caring father, son, brother, and uncle. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Daniel and Shirley Wyndham and Almira "Granny" Hoyt and survived by his father, William Robert Hoyt, mother, Dannette Cumbee and stepfather, Darrell (Alice) Cumbee; four children, Saylor Hoyt, Gavin Cox, Skipper Hardwick, and William Buck Hoyt; three sisters, Danielle (Kareem) Wyndham, Laurie Jackson, and Leah (Joe) Green, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was also a beloved uncle—and always the fun uncle—to his nieces and nephews: Danielle's children Gracie (Cody), Danika, K.J, Daniel, Kolby, and Dakota; Laurie's children, Zoey, Emma, and JJ; and Leah's children, Joey, Maddie, and Noah. Growing up in Charleston, South Carolina, with three sisters, Robbie was a fierce protector and a master of pranks (usually with his sidekick and sister, Laurie). He was also an avid guitarist with a life-long love for all kinds of music, especially country music. A jack of many trades, Robbie spent much of his life working as a skilled construction worker, specializing in concrete, and could fix just about anything. In fact, he could do anything that he put his mind to, whether playing an instrument, singing a new song, getting a hit on the fastest fast ball, or catching the biggest fish. Robbie's curiosity and enthusiasm for life were contagious, always making the simplest of things interesting and exciting. With a charm like no other, he could make anyone crack a smile and was constantly making his friends and family laugh. He will be missed forever by his family and friends. You are welcome to leave your condolences on our Tribute Wall and In lieu of flowers, please consider making contributions directly to Divinity Mortuary to help support the cost of Robbie's memorial service and transport from Kentucky to South Carolina.
