SAMUEL ALPHONZO PRIOLEAU

It is with profound sadness Divinity Mortuary announce the passing of Samuel Alphonzo Prioleau, affectionately called by many “Phonza ”56, of St. Stephen’s SC, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at MUSC Hospital Charleston, SC with his loving wife and children by his bedside.

Samuel was a proud graduate of St. Stephen High School, Class of 1988. Following graduation, Samuel proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Samuel leaves to cherish his precious memory his beautiful high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 34 years, Monica Prioleau; his loving children, Alexis (Dino) Gourdine and Trevor Prioleau; a son dear to his heart, Ralph (Machelle) Prioleau; his cherished grandchildren him he adored, Kaden, Kyrie, and Alaya; his loving mother, Ollie Mae Prioleau; siblings, Natasha (Jason) Wright, Jason Prioleau, loving mother-n-law, brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, special cousins, friends and other relatives and friends.

The Prioleau family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Prioleau residence. Please adhere to the hours given by the family and continue to keep the Prioleau and Pettigrew family uplifted in your prayers.

Samuel was preceded in death by his father, Jonathan Prioleau.
