It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Rose Mary Walker-Smith, 58, of Longridge, SC who answered the master's call to receive her just reward at 6:26 PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, SC surrounded with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Rose was the loving and devoted wife of Namon Smith, the loving mother of Demarko and Marquita Smith, the forever loving daughter of Ida Mae Walker and the late S.T. Bobby Walker, the loving sister of Barbara (Larry) Gaddist, Betty Boyd, Aszrine Walker and S.T. Bobby (Aneathia) Walker, Jr.

LIFE REFLECTIONS OF ROSE MARY WALKER-SMITH

Rose Mary Walker Smith, daughter of the late Mr. S.T. Walker and Mrs. Ida Mae Walker was born on September 8, 1963. She was born and grew up in the Sheep Island Community of Summerville, SC. She entered into eternal rest on the evening of August 3, 2022, at Trident Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family members.
Rose was educated in the Berkeley County School System. She also worked with Berkeley County School District for many years as a school bus aide for children with Special Needs, whom she loved so much and they showered her with the same love in return.
Rose, accepted Christ at a young age. She was a member of Macedonia Christian Church in the Sheep Island Community; once married she moved her membership to Canaan Christian Church. She was a faithful member for over twenty-five years and sung with the Missionaries. She was always a beautiful spirit, she always spoke her mind. She loved her family and showed it in many ways. She was always the bubbly spirit that would light up a room everywhere she went. She was always the life of the party.
Rose was joined in holy matrimony on March 19, 1983 to Namon Woodrow Smith. With this beautiful union they were blessed with two children, Demarko Smith and Marquita Smith.
Those left to cherish Rose memories are her devoted husband, Namon Woodrow Smith; her children, Demarko Smith and Marquita Smith of Moncks Corner, SC; her loving mother, Mrs. Ida Mae Walker of Summerville, SC; her siblings: Barbara (Larry) Gaddist, Betty Boyd, Aszrine Walker, and S.T. (Aneathia) Walker, Jr. all of Summerville, SC; one granddaughter, Little Miss Khamani Creel (her "Muffin"); her father-in- law, Apostle Clyde S. Smith Sr and mother-in- law, Floretta W. Smith; brothers-in-law: Clyde (Mary Ann) Smith of Cross, SC; Corey Smith of North Charleston, SC; Travin Smith, Demond Smith of Moncks Corner SC; and Darren Smith of Summer- ville, SC; sisters-in-law: Claudia (Felton) Walker, Carolyn Roberts of Summerville, SC and Sharmaine (Jermaine) Steward of Moncks Corner, SC; uncles, Jake Perry and Elder Odell (Bernice) Walker; five aunts: Rose Ann (Johnny) Reid, Florence Capers, Sally (Johnny) Gadson, Margret Perry and Virgina Perry; three special nieces: Latanya McLean, Jetavia Walker and Cynthia Washington all of Summerville, SC; an adopted daughter, Latoya Simmons; four special friends: Debra Davis, Sabrina Ravenell, Nikki Smith Theresa Green and Edwina Brewer and a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends.
Home Going & Life Celebration Service of Mrs. Rose Mary Walker-Smith will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Greater St. James AME Church, 1831 Jedburg Rd. Summerville, SC 29483 Pastor Archie Fair - Host Pastor
There will be NO viewing on Tuesday. Viewing will held be on Wednesday at the conclusion of the service )
Interment Following The Service: Willson Cemetery 1768 Long Ridge Rd. Moncks Corner, SC 29461
A face mask is ask to be worn at the service and kept on at all times.
