We regret to announce the passing of Ronnie E. Smiley, 60, of Summerville, SC who entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

Life Reflections of Ronnie E. Smiley

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I willl say of the Lord, He is my refuge and fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalm 91:1,2

Ronnie Smiley, Sr. was born on April 7, 1960 in New York, New York to the parents of Joseph and Bettye Smiley. He spent most of his child hood in the Bronx. Ronnie attended Aviation High school in Queens, NY. He enlisted into the Army and later decided to pursue a career in welding. Ronnie's work allowed him to travel. He took a position in Jacksonville, FL where he and his wife re-united from childhood after 25 years. They relocated to South Carolina in 2006. Ronnie joined Charity Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized in 2009. After a long journey of hard work he retired in 2015.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Smiley, nephew, De'Vante "Scooter" Smiley and a special cousin who was more like his other brother, Arnold "Trae" Harris.

Ronnie leaves to cherish is precious memories: his loving wife, Dolores "Lori" Smiley; mother, Bettye Smiley; his children, Ronnie Jr, Michael, Shelley, Reno and Samuel; his grandchildren, Shaniyah, Capreona, Karon, Kimmari, Jazariah, Danasia, Ronnie 3rd, Davion, Tekai, Denimn, Kingston, Prinston, Kerrington, Samuel Jr, Ryan and Mariah; great-grand children, Nila, Josiah and Makenzie; Sisters, Alma "Jean" Gibbs (Francis), Gale; brother, Rickey; sister cousins, Imgard and Lisa; nieces, Qwentona and Shavonne; nephews, Francis Jr, Marcus (Rochelle), Anthony, Terrell (Brittany), Walter, Terrance, Jeffrey and Ta'shaun; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and supportive friends.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Alfred Williams Community Center 4441 Durant Ave. N. Charleston, SC 29405. Ronnie will lie in state from 11:00am until the hour of service.

Per CDC guidelines, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
