LIFE REFLECTIONS OF MARCEL LORENZO CANTY

Marcel Lorenzo Canty, 39, of Bonneau, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Marcel was born on July 12, 1986, in Washington, D.C., to Juanita Evans and Marcel Johnson. 

Marcel spent his early childhood in Bonneau, South Carolina, where he was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Annie Mae Canty and Joseph Canty, whose love and guidance helped shape the man he became. At the age of 12, Marcel was welcomed into the home of Teresa Middleton, who lovingly raised him as her own and remained a devoted mother figure throughout his life.

Marcel was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Annie Mae Canty and Joseph Canty.

Marcel was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud family man whose greatest joy was spending time with those he loved. He will be remembered for his strength, resilience, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created.

Marcel leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Sirena Canty; his loving parents, Juanita Evans and Marcel Johnson; the woman who lovingly raised him, Teresa Middleton; his seven beloved children, Trenton S. Miller, Zion R. Canty, Taraji K. Canty, Trinity K. Canty, Jhamir L. Staley, McKenzie L. Canty, and Savannah A. Canty; his cherished stepdaughters, Layla Akram, Liyanna Akram,and Layaan Akram; his beloved siblings, TaNisha Grayson, Fatima Barnes, Mariah Barnes, Elijah Barnes, Chanel Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Navonia Evans, Davon Evans, and Evan Middleton; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until hour of service at Bethel Miracle Temple Church, 1019 Bethel Road St. Stephen, South Carolina, 29479. THERE WILL BE NO VIEWING AT THE CONCLUSION OF SERVICE.

Funeral Services Celebrating Marcel's life will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Miracle Temple Church 1019 Bethel Road St. Stephen, South Carolina 29479.

Interment: Bethel Memorial Cemetery, St. Stephen, SC 29479.

* In accordance with Marcel's wishes, family and friends attending the service are encouraged to wear blue jeans, white T-shirts, and sneakers as a celebration of his life. *

* The family respectfully requests privacy during this difficult time. There will be no family visitation, and they kindly ask that no personal visits be made as they grieve the loss of their beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.*
