Lavel Davis, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts and bowed heads that we announce the passing of Lavel Davis, Jr., 20, of Ridgeville, SC who entered into eternal rest on Sunday night November 13, 2022 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, in Charlottesville, VA. Lavel was academically gifted, an outstanding high school football player at Woodland High School, and an incredibly extraordinary wide receiver at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA.  Lavel was a Superstar on and off the football field, well equipped, and preparing to fulfill his dreams of being drafted into the NFL. Lavel will be greatly and deeply missed amongst his family, community, colleagues, teammates and friends. He will ALWAYS be the forever wonderful loving son of Mr. & Mrs. Thaddeus L. & Fallom Simone Davis; loving big brother of Taniya Davis & Teigan Davis; Grandparents: Monroe & Cynthia Lampkin, Linda Varner, Thaddeus (Deloris) Davis; Great-Grandfather: Herman Davis; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will be receiving family and friends at their residence. A face mask is required to be worn at all times while at the residence. You are welcome to leave your condolences on our Tribute Wall.

Continue to keep the Davis Family, the Ridgeville Community, Woodland High School & The University of Virginia football team, Faculty & Staff as well as the families of Lavel's fellow teammates Devin Chandler & D'Sean Perry in your prayers.

A FACE MASK AND TEMPERATURE CHECK WILL BE ENFORCED & MANDATORY BEFORE ENTRANCE INTO THE SANCTUARY. A FACE MASK MUST BE WORN AND KEPT ON AT ALL TIMES WHILE IN THE SANTUARY.

CELEBRATING THE WONDERFUL LIFE of MR. LAVEL DAVIS, JR., will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 7396 Rivers Ave. North Charleston, SC 29406.  Rev. Dr. Byron L. Benton - Senior Pastor

LAVEL WILL LIE IN STATE FROM 9:00 AM UNTIL THE HOUR OF SERVICE.

THERE WILL BE NO VIEWING AT THE END OF THE SERVICE.
