Divinity Mortuary alongside the Doctor and Gilliard family regret to announce the passing of John Doctor, 78, of Ridgeville, SC affectionately know as  "JD" who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, August 24, 2025 at his residence.

REFLECTIONS OF LIFE OF JOHN DOCTOR aka "JD"

John Doctor the son of the late Mr. Rufus Isaiah Doctor and Mrs. Ada Lee Gilliard-Doctor was  born on August 19, 1947 in Berkeley County. He entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

"JD" which he is most commonly known attended Public School. He was employed with the State Port until he retired. Later in life "JD" attended Belmont Luxury Home Care, LLC.

"JD" is now resting peacefully with his Heavenly Father. He fought a good fight and finished his course. He kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous judge shall give him at that day.

"JD"  was proceeded in death by his parents, Rufus and Ada Lee Gilliard - Doctor; his siblings, Waymond Doctor, Annie "Amy" D. Gethers, Mac Arthur Doctor, Anna Benjamin, Maggie Doctor-Glover and Donald Doctor.

John leaves to cherish his loving memories: his sisters, Ruthie (Carl) Levine of Summerville , SC and Angelina Doctor of Summerville, SC. He also leaves one brother, Leon Doctor of Camden, NJ. His greatest joy were his nieces and nephews. Special niece and caregiver: Sabrina Glover-Stephens along with a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; special friend: Robert Lee Johnson and his special pets, Bentley and Minnie.

The family will be receiving guests at their residence. You are welcome to leave your Condolences on our Tribute Wall for the family. Continue to keep the Doctor and Gilliard family in prayer.
