We regret to announce the passing of James Johnson, 91, of Cross, SC who entered into eternal rest at his residence on Tuesday morning, January 23, 2024 with his loving family by his bedside. James was the loving father of Janie Nelson, Betty Button,James Johnson, Jr., Donna Johnson & Ruth (Jerome) Baker; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings: Samuel Johnson & Lucille Heyward and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lee Mack Johnson.

Mr. James Johnson will lie in state from 10:00am until the hour of service on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at St. Matthews AME Church, 2105 Old Hwy. 6 Cross, SC 29436
