It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Herman Middleton, 83, of St. Stephen, SC who entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September6 6, 2026.

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Mr. Herman Lee “Nat” Middleton Sr., who entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Mr. Middleton was born on January 24, 1943, in Russellville, South Carolina, to the late Viola Middleton. He was a hardworking and gifted tradesman, skilled in carpentry, masonry, and brickwork. Throughout his life, he used his hands to build many things, but his greatest legacy was not found in what he built—it was found in the family he loved, the lives he touched, and the values he passed from one generation to the next.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, the late Rev. Inez Almon Middleton, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.

Mr. Middleton was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rev. Inez Almon Middleton; his mother, Viola Middleton; and his son, Anthony Alphonso Middleton.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Herman Lee Middleton Jr., Jonathan Andre Middleton, and Teresa Sirron Middleton; his bonus daughter, Queen Esther Blondell Bennett (Charles); along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

The family will receive relatives and friends beginning Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation hours will be strictly observed.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Miracle Academy Gymnasium, 1019 Bethel Road, St. Stephen, South Carolina 29479.

Celebration of Life Service will begin immediately following the viewing at 10:00 a.m.

There will be NO additional viewing of the body following the service.

Interment will immediately follow the service at Bethel Memorial Gardens, 1892 Highway 35, St. Stephen, South Carolina 29479.

The Middleton family gratefully acknowledges the prayers, expressions of love, and acts of kindness extended to them during their time of bereavement.
