Gwendolyn E. Ashe

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful transition of Gwendolyn Ashe, 95, of Summerville, SC who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Mother was a devoted member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, FL  and served faithfully under the leadership of the Late Reverend Dr. Samuel Atchison and later moved to South Carolina and became a devoted and faithful member of Greater St. James AME Church, Summerville, SC  under the leadership of Reverend Archie Fair. Mother loved to cook and became famous of her potatoes pies, and in her down time she would enjoy watching her favorite football team the "Miami Dolphins." Mother will truly be missed among her family, friends and church family. Mother Gwendolyn was the loving mother of Ernest Ashe of Summerville, SC, Alvira Ashe of Tampa, FL, Ida Faye Anderson of Lincolnton, NC, and Ronald W. Richardson of Miami, FL; her loving grandchildren Charika H. Johnson (Emmerson) of Charlotte, NC, Lakisha Huyler-Johnson Bronx, NY, Angelita Huyler of Summerville, SC, Chelonda Ryans of Miami, FL, Enosha Williams of Qunicy, FL, Jamie Lammons of Riverview, FL, Denero Ashe of Walterboro, SC, Zenobia Waters of Lincolnton, NC, Jeremy Middleton of Tampa, FL; great-grand Briana Ralph of Miami, FL, Aneysia Huyler of Summerville, SC and a host of additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will be receiving family and friends at their residence starting on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 2:00pm - 7:00pm daily.
