LIFE REFLECTIONS OF SISTER ERNESTINE "EMMA" LANG

Sunrise: September 7, 1961      Sunset: October 3, 2025

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust. Psalm 91:1-3

Ernestine "Emma" Lang was born to the Late Ernest and Naomi Lang, Sr., on September 7, 1961. She was a light to everyone who knew her. Emma lived a life filled with love, laughter and compassion – always  full of life and finding joy in the simple things of life. Her spirit and kind heart left an impression that won't ever fade.

Ernestine was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend. To her family, she was "The Life of the Party", a source of strength, comfort and always ready with a comeback or a warm embrace. Her faith guided her path and her love extended to all who crossed it.

Ernestine graduated from Plainfield High School in 1978. She has had an extensive career in the healthcare field, most recently as a healthcare advocate with Care Net Health, Inc for the past twelve years.  Upon relocating to Columbia, South Carolina, Ernestine joined the Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ, where her son-in-law and daughter serves as senior leaders. Prior to her relocation, she was a faithful and devoted member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as the president and vice-president of the usher board for several years.

Ernestine enjoyed her family and adored and cherished her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/nephews, whom she considered "Her Grands". She enjoyed her favorite holiday "Thanksgiving" and spending time with her loved ones. Though we will miss her dearly, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone on before her and now watches us from above .

Ernestine leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughter, Shaneeta "NeeNee" Lang- Florence (Superintendent Zema); two sisters, Mattie Lang- Warren (The Late Henry), and Susan Lang; her brothers, Donald Henderson (Vernell), Ernest Jr, Charles, Johnny "Tank", and Ronald "Ronnie" (Emma) Lang; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces/nephews, cousins, Special Friend, April Dorn, and her grand-dog, Bambam.
