LIFE REFLECTIONS OF CLADIA MAE HAMBY
His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over nanny things enter thou unto the joy of the Lord. Matthew 25:21
Claudia Mae Hamby is the second child of three born to Bishop Claude Hamby and Mother Rosalie Hamby. Both of whom preceded her in death.
Claudia was educated in the Berkeley County School System. She is a graduate of Berkeley Training High School, the "Class of 1966." Where she was a majorette in the Berkeley Wildcat's Marching Band. She was extremely popular in school.
She furthered her education at Roxbury Community College in Boston Massachusetts.
Claudia later married Harold L. Williams, this union lasted for many years, and he preceded her in death.
After high school Claudia moved to the city of New York where she became a switchboard operator. Upon moving to Boston Massachusetts, she worked at the Polaroid Company.
Just like her mother Claudia possessed a love for nurturing children, this passion caused her to become a foster parent and operate her own home day care center.
Claudia gave her life to the Lord at an early age and continued to grow in grace. If you had a problem, it was nothing for her to tell you, "Come here baby let's pray." She was a happy soul.
Claudia loved to cook. If you ever had a meal from her, you know she could throw down in the kitchen. Claudia had a smile that would light up the room, and an unusual sense of humor; that would have you in stitches. Claudia was a protector and a faithful friend. She gave from her heart all the way to the end.
Claudia was known by many nicknames, Monk Jo, Monk, Sis, Claudia Mae, Aunty, Mama, and famously "Nana." We will miss her beautiful face, sweet voice, warm heart, and ready prayer.
She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Yolonda C. Williamson (Richard) and Neoka Williams; sister, Sandra Wright (Isaac); brother Anthony E. Hamby (Sandra) all of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; two grandsons, Darius D. Warren and Zaire N. Williams; four special brothers: John L. Terry (Hattie Mae), Ricky R. Howard (Beatrice), Larry E.
